Microsoldering
Board-level microsoldering repair
Specialist microsoldering in Taunton — component-level work using a microscope and fine-tipped iron. The repair other shops say is impossible.
What is microsoldering?
Precision repair, at the component level
Microsoldering is the technique used to repair tiny electronic components soldered directly onto a circuit board. Working under a microscope with a fine-tipped iron, we can desolder a damaged component (like a snapped HDMI port) and fit a brand new one with surgical precision.
It's specialist work. Most repair shops in Taunton and across Somerset will refuse it — we do it every week, and it's often the difference between a £40 fix and replacing the whole device.
Console HDMI port repair — the most common job
If your Xbox or PlayStation has no picture, an intermittent picture, or distorted video output — the most likely cause is a damaged HDMI port. It's usually caused by an HDMI cable being yanked or knocked while plugged in.
We strip the console down, desolder the broken port from the motherboard, fit a brand new port and reassemble. Most repairs are turned around within a few days and come with our standard 12 Month Warranty.
